My story

My name is Bernard Vereš and my aspiration is to become the world´´ s No.1 in professional golf.

I began playing golf during a family holiday in Windischgarsten in Austria in 2011. There I participated in the free trial golf lesson for children. I was 7 years old and golf impressed me very much. Actually, no one from my family played golf at that time.

Soon after, I started to train regularly and participated in my first child golf tournaments. I found out that golf is the best sport for me especially because of the special atmosphere of tournament competitions. I love a competition.

My whole family has supported me as much as possible since the start. My father has learned how to play golf to be able to help me on my way. When I was 13, we moved to Austria so that I could train and play golf in the best possible conditions.

I continued to compete in junior tournaments both in Slovakia and in Austria. In 2017, I was awarded "Golfer of the Year" in Slovakia in my category. I started to play junior tournaments also abroad in Slovenia, France, Czech Republic, Scotland, Finland, Croatia...

Actually, I was not a child golf superstar. I did not win big international tournaments as a junior. Moreover, my parents do not have money to buy me everything.

Despite all of this, I love golf very much. I have big dreams in professional golf. To get them to really come true, I have to reach several intermediate goals. My first big goal is to play The Open as an amateur golfer.
